Amber Room

 

From all of the lost treasures in the world, Amber Room is one of the most famous. A room that was built completely from gold plated and gold leaf, so incredibly beautiful that has long been recognized as the eighth wonders in the World.

The building that was built in 1709 was a place of King of Prussia until he gave it as gift to Russian Tsar Peter the Great in 1716. It stayed in Russia for more than two hundred years and then disappeared.

 
When the Nazis invaded Leningrad (St Petersburg) in 1941, the Soviets tried to hide their famous treasure. But however, Nazi is not easily fooled. Only takes 36 hours to retrieve the contents of Amber room into the treasury, and the train was brought to the German city of Konigsberg.


When the war ended in 1945, the Soviets tried to retake the Amber Room. But the eighth wonder of the World was never seen again.

More than sixty years, many countless rumors about the whereabouts of Amber Room. Some say destroyed in the bombing of Konigsberg and there is a state that is buried somewhere in the Ore Mountains or buried in a submarine which sank to the bottom Baltic Sea.


But now, German treasure hunters say that they have found an underground cave that fill with Nazi gold. And they believe that the Amber Room is also hidden on the inside. Opening the cave will be difficult, because it is known that the Nazi booby-trap in the treasure them with explosives.
